\nA new year just started and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s already quite hectic! For those in Manila, did you guys know that there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a Manga conference happening in Manila? Manga scholars from all over the globe (from Fusami Ogi, Jaqueline Berndt, James Welker, etc.) as well as artists from all over Asia (Stephanie Soejono, Tintin Pantoja<\/a>, and FsC<\/a>) are going to be in Manila to talk about women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s manga! I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m going to be there too!<\/p>\n

The conference is the called Manga and the <\/strong>Mangaesque: New Perspectives to a Global Culture<\/strong>. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hosted by the Japanese Studies Program of Ateneo de Manila University alongside Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Manga Research Project and the Japan Foundation, Manila. The conference will be held on 22-23 January 2015<\/strong> at Ricardo Leong Hall in Ateneo de Manila University<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

As for what I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be doing, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be hosting a panel on women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s comics in the Philippines as well as a talk on the development of women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s doujinshi in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
