I agree with you. Most fujoshis can distingusih the line between the reality and the fantasy whereas male otakus sometimes go too far. Speaking of a fujoshi story, I can think of Tonari no yaoi chan and Fujoshi kanojo where the protagonist boy is not aware that she is a fujoshi. ^^

I didn’t know about this manga, but the only one BL manga artist I know is Yoshinaga Fumi. Do you know about her?

@bangin. Yes! Yoshinaga Fumi is one of my favorite mangakas! <3 <3 I love her work although I haven’t had the chance to read her non-BL work yet (someday, I’ll try to get Ooku)

As for Tonari no 801chan and Fujoshi Kanjyo, wah! I didn’t know the guy doesn’t know her being a fujoshi. I didn’t have the chance to really read it from the start. ^^;; I should try to get the books someday though. :3

this is old… I knew that you blogged about this manga! I just discovered the scanlations and I am loving it. I was really confused at first because it looks like shoujo so I was expecting shoujoish but then the fan service was being different and gearing towards guys… So I again read your post and finally understand. hehehe

It’s no wonder Konjoh-sensei uses lots and lots of fanservice; other than this series, she’s exclusively a hentai artist! (^^;) Mahou Shoujo Otaku Kei really isn’t for fujoshi, although it seems like it for the first chapter or two; it’s a new obscure kind of moe fetish for fujoshi, apparently. (We are arguably the most perverted kind of female, as it is.) Here’s an essay on the topic posted on the blog of a guy that likes fujoshi moe.

@Bangin: Sure, blame men for everything. I can pretty much guarantee you that a female otaku is just as likely to lose it as a male otaku. Any perceived higher incidence among men is owed to the fact that there are probably more male otaku than female and when a female does something it’s always less objectionable (ie, see any school scandal).
