Thank you for visiting Otaku Champloo, a little project conducted by me to review some mangas and animes I’ve read and watched as well as share insights and news that I browse around in the world of manga.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Khursten desu. Onna desu.
I always have to clarify to people that I’m a girl. I strangely have a strong presence, but some have already pointed that the choice of pink in my design shows that I’m definitely a girl.
My life as an otaku is still in its blooming stage, almost there, but not quite there yet. I still have a pocket that stops me from going on an all out manga spree on E-bay. I live in a country that doesn’t have a decent manga shop anymore. Most mangas sold here are English translated and sometimes, reading them in English feels weird.
I studied Japanese just to read the mangas that I have been collecting. Whether I want to take it a bit further, it all depends on the scholarships that come my way. But I love mangas a lot. If I can make a living out of reading manga, I would. Yeah, isn’t that every manga otaku’s dream?
However, being a manga otaku, my memory is not as sharp as those in Akiba. I cannot completely remember who is who and who done what. All I know is that series was boring or the guy there sucked eggs. Perhaps this reflects a little bit in my writing. But I think I haven’t written about something that I don’t like.
ABOUT THE MANGA SHE READS LATELY…
I’ve been reading a lot of seinen and josei titles lately, particularly seinen. The world of Shounen Jump and Hana to Yume wears me thin lately. I think I’m just growing up. Or I’ve been reading much too many fluff that it kills me.
Currently, I’d recommend the following mangas.
- Nodame Cantabile
- Monster
- 20th Century Boys
- NHK Ni Yokoso
- Koukou Debut
- Gintama
